 EDUCATION DAY -- January 11, 2009

Yes, it’s that time again. Planning has already started for the Denver Chapter’s annual Education Day event. This year’s event is being Co-Chaired by new members, Roxie Berkman and Alyson Lytle.

It’s not too late to be part of this exciting committee. If you have an interest in women’s issues and want to share that with your Hadassah colleagues in a fun, interactive, and educational venue, then please don’t hesitate to contact us.

Also, if you have work experience and knowledge in the areas of women’s healthcare, nutrition, or fitness, we would love to have you consider being a speaker for the event.

We look forward to working with you on this special event for 2009!

 MAKOR

THE BEST OF JEWISH HUMOR

Come join the Makor group for a wonderful evening of entertainment and Jewish humor featuring Abe Wagner and David Shander, MD on Monday, January 12th at 7:00pm at the home of Debi & Jerry Tepper.

David and Abe were self-described comedians in the early ‘80s and have agreed to a revival. According to David, you don’t have to be Jewish to appreciate Jewish humor, but it helps to understand all of the innuendo. The best of Jewish humor is in the narrative which often evokes laughter long before the punch line. A good Yiddish accent makes a big difference as well. Come prepared to laugh! You may bring your own jokes if you wish but keep them “Yiddish”. Husbands & Friends are welcome!

· The cost for this event is $10.00 per person donation to Hadassah.

·  Please RSVP to Shelly by Monday, January 5th at shelly@ix.netcom.com or 720-232-4041. You will receive information about the location at that time.

Founded in 1912, Hadassah retains the passion and timeless values of its founder, Henrietta Szold, Jewish scholar and activist, who was dedicated to Judaism, Zionism, and the American ideal.

Committed to the centrality of Israel based on the renaissance of the Jewish people in its historic homeland, Hadassah promotes the unity of the Jewish people. In Israel, Hadassah initiates and supports pace-setting health care, education and youth institutions, and land development to meet the country's changing needs.

In the United States, Hadassah enhances the quality of American and Jewish life through its education and Zionist youth programs, promotes health awareness, and provides personal enrichment and growth for its members.
